Boat History

This Blackfin was purchased in 1993 by her current owner. At the time the boat was a standard Blackfin 25' Center Console with cuddy cabin. After fishing her for a number of years, the owner decided he needed more cockpit space, something that is in very short supply on the 25'. He loved his Blackfin and the way she handled so the decision was made to extend the stern of the boat by 4'. Many other modifications were done over the years and then in 2005 the boat was taken to Huckins Yacht Corp. were she underwent a major refit including paint, engine and half tower. The result is a great looking custom 29' Blackfin with great performance and superior economy.
Vessel Upgrades

In the Fall of 2005 "Southern Heritage" began a 16 month refit at Huckins Yacht Corp. The refit included a new Cummins QSB 420hp common-rail diesel engine & transmission, strut, shaft, AWLGRIP painting of the hull and deck, bottom paint, custom half tower with folding observation nest, PSS shaft seal and much more.

Mechanical Systems

This professional re-power was completed in Spring of 2007 by Huckins Yacht Corp. and Southern Cummins. Performance is outstanding with a top speed of 35 knots at just over 3,000 RPM's and a cruise speed of 30 knots at 2,600 RPM's burning 14.5 GPH giving better than 2.25 MPG. At a trolling speed of 5 knots, the boat is burning 0.5 GPH giving an amazing 10+ MPG.
