9' ft Kiwi Passion 36 1989

The boat is a Passion 36 Kiwi, built in France in 1989. Sailed to Caribic in 1991 on own keels.
It has 2 Volvo Saildrive diesel engines, each of 9 horsepower. Diesel tank capacity: 70 liters, fuel consumption, both engines running: about 2 1/2 liter per hour.
Length overall: 10.75 m. Beam: 5.35 m. Draft: 1.20 m. Sailarea: 48 m2. Displacement: 4.5 tons. Cruising speed on motors: 5-6 knots, on sails: 6-8 knots.

Interior: 1 single and 1 double berth in each hull in separate cabins, Lavac toilet and washbasin in each hull, extra double berth in center cabin in front of settee.
Center cabin has a curved settee with (narrow) space for 6, dining table with built-in fridge (80 liters) and freezer (40 liters) with Danfos compressor.
Pantry with pressurized cold water from 750(!) liter watertank, 2 burner gas stowe and oven, and sink. Lots of stowage in settee and cupboards.
Navigation corner with radar, GPS, log, echo sounder, windspeed, VHF marine telephone, SSB marine shortwave
transceiver (Icom 600 with automatic antenna tuner).
Standing headroom in center cabin: 1.84 m. amidships, 1.78 m. at pantry and navigation, in the hulls more than 1,90 m. Berth lengths 1.90 m.
Multi-system TV and videorecorder, Stereoradio with cassettedeck and cd-player. Converter for making 220 volts AC 50 cycles, from 12 volt, 600 Watts max.
Deck hardware: Teleflex mechanic wheel steering, Autohelm 4000 autopilot, Morse engine controls, single lever, 2 Barton self tailing winches, electric anchor winch, new Bruce anchor 20 kg. with 50 m. 10 mm. galvanized chain, plus 2 more anchors, Danforth and CQR-type, ropes and chain, rope with lead inlay, 6 mooring lines, 4 big fenders, new plastic dinghy 2.8 m. (4 persons) with Yamaha 2 hp. outboard. 200 watts solar panel and 800 watts windgenerator (keeps fridge and freezer running all the time). ProFurl roller reefing for both genoa and jib.(1 new, 1 renewed by Profurl in
Trinidad). New sail cover for mainsail, new Bimini cockpit cover, with side curtains. New stainless steel Targa arch aft, handrails on cabin sides and transoms. Topsides painted and new plexigass (lexan) windows in cabin.
Safety equipment: 2 horseshoe lifebouys, one with lightbouy attached, 10 lifewests for adults and 4 for children (in France
the boat is approved for charter with up to 8 persons sleeping and up to 10 on daycharter, but then it is really crowded!).
2 sets of parachute rockets, day signals, orange smoke etc. And the boat itself is unsinkable due to built-in boyancy in all 4 ends (polystyrene-blocks) and all superstructure and topsides is sandwich built. Safety escape hatch in bridgedeck, can be opened from both sides.
General description: Family cruising catamaran, ridgid, safe, comfortable, not fancy or fast, but a good seaboat, ideal for 4 persons on long term cruising, or 2 persons for live-aboard, can be sailed singlehanded, I have done that for 9 months, but prefer company.
The boat will be sold with all spareparts, tools and fittings, ready to sail away.

Or wait until the boat is in Martinique, where you can see it on land. It will be there during hurricane season, september to december.

My reason for selling the boat is, that ever since I was a boy, I have dreamt of sailing on a catamaran in the Caribbean, I have been there on 2 occasions with my wife, sailing on charterboats, but the dream was to sail on my own boat. Now I have been sailing this catamaran, alone and with friens, for almost 4 years, having improved the boat along the way. But no dream will last
forever, and now I am longing to go back to Denmark and sail a smaller catamaran, I am 71 years old now, and my wife is dead, so I think it is the right time now.
