9' ft Albemarle 262 Center Console 2000

Model History
Albemarle introduced the 262 Center Console in 1993 and production ran for a total of 10 years ending in 2003. The primary power package for the boat was the jackshaft stern drive however there was also version available. The jackshaft is the preferred power because the balance the amid ship engine brings to the boat. The 262 is a highly regarded boat for her stout construction, roomy on deck space and the fishing amenities. Her long production run is clear evidence that Albemarle hit a home run with this design.


Construction & Design
Albemarle Boats are built in Edenton, NC were there is a strong history of building tough offshore Carolina fishing boats. Hulls and decks are laid up with E-glass woven roving and polyester resins. The stringer system is marine grade fir plywood completely encapsulated in fiberglass and resin. While the hulls sides are cored for a high strength to weight ratio the bottoms are solid glass for maximum strength and durability. The hull if a full deep-vee with 24 degrees of deadrise at the transom. The bottom also features two running strakes and a modest chine. Bottom line - the boat was designed for the toughest offshore conditions - the Carolina coast!


Deck Arrangement
Starting in the bow, there are two bench seats forward with large storage locker beneath. At the aft end of each of the seats are vertical rod holders and washdown down faucets, fresh water to port and raw water to starboard. Forward of the center console is the removable in-deck fish box which is plumbed to a macerator to pump all the waste and water directly overboard. At the front of the console is a cooler/seat. Inside the console is a area for an enclosed head (although the boat does not come with a head, a porta potti or fully pumped head could be installed). Aft of the console, there is a built-in transom livewell with two small storage boxes on either side and a large in-deck hatch to access the bilge area.
