Built by Californian Yachts, Costa Mesa, CA, this 28 Sportfisher is a classic sport boat that offers you fishing amenities on the exterior and plenty of comfort in the cabin interior. Accommodations: Accommodations are provided for four passengers in two berths. Interior layout includes forward V-berth, port hanging locker, port convertible dinette/double berth, starboard galley area, and starboard enclosed head. V-berth features include access to chain locker, escape hatch, and under-berth storage compartments. The head is equipped with vanity, stainless steel sink, cold pressure freshwater, marine toilet, towel rack, storage cabinet, and privacy door. Other interior features include 12-volt light fixtures, 110-volt electrical outlets, mirror, fabric covered cushions, eight windows, teak magazine rack, teak cup storage rack, overhead teak fishing pole rack (holds six poles), three teak drawers under dinette, miscellaneous storage compartments, and lockable companionway door.

Galley Equipment: The galley is equipped with deep stainless steel sink, cold pressure water, refrigerator (not in service), Sharp Carousel microwave, built-in trash dispenser, countertop, cutting board, place for a stove top, four teak utensil drawers, under-sink cabinet, sliding door cupboards, teak spice rack, and teak paper towel holder.

Electronic and Navigational Gear: The flybridge helm is equipped with stainless steel steering wheel, forward/reverse throttle set, dash mounted gauges, and dash mounted electronics. Electronic and navigational gear includes VHF marine radio, compass, AM/FM/CD stereo, and speakers.

Electrical/Gas/Plumbing: The boat is equipped with 12-volt DC and 110-volt AC electrical system. Electrical features include two deep-cycle batteries, battery isolator switch, accessory panel, True Charger 20-amp charging system, inverter, shore power inlet, and ship-to-shore power cord.

Water system includes three bilge pumps (manual and automatic), cold pressure freshwater, 10-gallon plastic freshwater tank, and 25-gallon plastic holding tank.

Hull and Deck Gear: The hull is built of fiberglass, and the decks are fiberglass with non-skid surfacing. Deck layout includes deck at bow, narrow walkaround side decks, large aft sport cockpit, and flybridge. The flybridge is equipped with wood rub rail, stainless steel/teak flybridge ladder, forward wraparound fiberglass windbreak, wraparound sun visor, full instrumentation helm, swivel captain’s seat, two integral bench passenger seats, two teak grab bars, two small dashboard storage compartments, and three medium-size gear compartments. Other hull and deck gear includes stainless steel bow rail, two stainless steel deck cleats, wash down decks, raised gunwales, freshwater hose, and aft deck lazaretto. Anchor gear includes claw anchor, chain, rode, stainless steel bow roller, hawse pipe, chain locker, and manual windlass. Safety gear includes two fire extinguishers, flare kit, black rope docking line, five black fenders, and three white fenders. Canvas inventory includes black window covers in very good condition. Fishing and sports gear includes teak swim platform, stainless steel swim ladder (not installed), eight stainless steel adjustable rail mounted rod holders, downriggers, and outriggers. The boat completed haulout for service and bottom paint as of March 2007.

Equipment/Engine Details:

Engine Details: The power package includes 330 HP Chevy 454 4-cylinder gas inboard engine with 40 hours since 2003 rebuild. The boat cruises at 12 knots and reaches a maximum speed of 27 knots. Other features include two stainless steel fuel tanks with total 80-gallon capacity. The engine is dependable and runs great!

Remarks: In 1998 the boat was located in Santa Barbara, CA, where she was refurbished inside and out. Interior refurbishing included new wood sole, newly refurbished wood interior, new electrical wiring, new 12-volt light fixtures, and new cushions. Exterior refurbishing included new gel coat surface, new steering (cable, wheel, and new engine parts to make steering better), and new 12-volt engine compartment light fixture. In 2003 the engine was rebuilt. Other more recent service work has been completed on the boat, including tuning the engine and haulout/bottom paint. Most recently, the owner moved to Hawaii, and he is extremely motivated to sell!

The boat is docked at a private resident dock in Channel Islands Harbor (Oxnard, CA), rented on a month-to-month rental agreement with homeowner at $300 per month. The dock space is assumable to Buyer, upon approval of homeowner. Other dock features include greenbelt location, guest parking right in front, separate from house gated dock entrance, and dockside power.
