9' ft Gozzard Cutter-rigged sloop 1991

Sarafina is a 1991 Gozzard cutter-rigged sloop with a number of unique features.

Perhaps most interesting is the boat's custom-built cockpit roof. The roof has a three-part glass windshield with electric wiper and a large sliding sunroof allowing easy access to the main traveler, radar module, wind generator, ship's horn and mounted solar panels.

The roof provides shade and great protection from the elements and, with the slider open, a view of all sails.

This boat has been impeccably maintained by her present owners during 4 years of coastal cruising. Other notable features of this boat include: a 15 GPH watermaker, a brand new custom built polythelene water tank and the Northstar 952 Chartplotter mounted on a swiveling navigation pod.

Gozzard is renown for building comfortable and safe boats for live-aboards and cruisers. Sarafina is a rare and beautiful example of this craft. She is fully equipped and ready to sail away.

Accommodations
Interior – Honduran mahogany woodwork with caned cabinet doors. Salon and dinette seat cushions covered with hunter green Ultrasuede; dinette seat backs and stern cushions covered in a complementary woven fabric.

Head – Stainless steel sink, Corian counter top. Separate full-size enclosed shower stall with exhaust fan and folding shower door. Storage cabinet and locker-seat in shower. Large vanity mirror. Sink is in a sliding drawer to maximize space.

Aft Quarter Berth – King-sized berth with a 3-drawer dresser and hanging locker. Portlight to cockpit for ventilation. Entire berth can be enclosed for privacy by means of a hidden privacy panel and folding door.

Chart Table/Dinette Settee – The Corian dinette table is also a full-size chart plotting table with two built-in storage compartments for charts and equipment. The adjacent panel contains the instrument array plus a spacious bookshelf/storage area behind a sliding cane panel. The seating area doubles as storage for the house and starting battery banks and a large utility tool bin. Overhead dorades and hatch and a circulating fan provide cooling air to this area.

Salon – Unique Gozzard touches include a double salon couch that converts to a centerline, queen-size double berth. This area can also be made into a private stateroom by opening a clever accordion door and a folding wall panel. The salon area also has convenient reading lamps, bookshelves, hidden wine rack, liquor cabinet, vanity/dresser, closet with door-front cubby-holes, full-size cedar-lined hanging locker and under sofa storage areas. A large additional storage space is located under the sole.

Deck & Hull
Deck – Molded fiberglass with non-skid surface; hand laid alternate layers 1805 roving, 1/2" end grain balsa. Solid reinforcing in all load and stress areas.

Hull – hand laid alternate layers 1805 roving, 1/2" end grain balsa. The hull is fully cored for insulation and stiffness. All exterior gel-coats are NPG and are backed with iso-thermic resin. Underwater surfaces are Epoxy coated. Awlgrip painted whale stripe (2003) and boot stripe (2005). Bottom painted with three coats of Petit Trinidad (2005)

Cockpit – Gozzard-built hardtop roof over cockpit w/ sunroof slider; glass windshield w/ electric windshield wiper; curtains fully enclose cockpit with zip in vinyl windows and/or "no-see-um" screens (2004). The entire window/screen system can be easily removed with one zipper.

Exterior woodwork – teak toe rails and louvered companionway doors w/fold away screen door; teak bow platform and cockpit sole
